Albuquerque, NM - The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent No. 7,531,741 B1 covering Sacred Power’s Tracking Solar Shelter on May 12, 2009.
"The patent will provide Sacred Power with considerable market protection from the competitive renewable energy technology market," said co-inventor Dave S. Melton, President/CEO.
The Patent Firm, Peacock & Adams; Deborah A. Peacock assisted Sacred Power in attaining the patent. The patent covers Sacred Power’s tracking solar power array that provides shelter to items disposed beneath the solar power array, particularly to vehicles, such as the SP SOL-Park™ shown above.
The SP SOL-Park™ solar carport design consists of 20-Photowatt PW 1250 125 watt photovoltaic modules and 1-SMA America 2.5 KW inverter along with all of the appropriate disconnects, safety switches and combiner boxes per section.
"Compared to a fixed array type carport, the SP SOL-Park™ has the ability for single axis tracking. The result is an average of 25% more power each day.,” said co-inventor Odes Armijo Caster, Vice President/COO. That's more energy available within the building or for sale to the local utility.
The solar tracking system has been installed at various locations around the Nation.
